ABOUT

Mark Hill
Owner
Landscape Designer
Growing up in the Northern outskirts of rural Sydney where the bush meets the fruit orchards and kids played outside till the dinnertime call, Mark developed a natural understanding of how the simple things in life are often the best. A wood fire, a game of backyard cricket or footy, a tree for shade and a swing are often reflected on as what it means to live the good life.
Residing nowadays in the sleepy, lush countryside of Firefly on the Mid Coast halfway between Gloucester & Forster. Life consists of tending to the farm gardens, chasing the dog and trying to keep up with the boys. And while there can be plenty of worthy distractions at times, the distance helps for an open mind and clearer visions.
He entered the Horticulture Industry straight out of school working in nursery and garden maintenance whilst taking time to discover the world. In 2005 he enrolled in Ryde Horticultural College and quickly moved from his study into the demanding roll of establishing a Design Service within a major Melbourne based Landscape Company. The successful stint resulted in the 2008 Victorian Landscape Design of the Year award.
In 2010 the decision was made to move back closer to his roots and after some time honing his craft on high quality projects Mark Hill Garden Design was launched. Mainly working in Sydney and the Central Coast early on Mark now travels wherever work takes him.
